Rocky Mountain UMC Pre-Annual Conference Event
Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 8:00am to 4:00pm at Parker UMC, Parker, CO (only 20 minutes from the site of the Rocky Mountain Annual Conference)
Noted author and professor of evangelism Dr. George Hunter III will present a special pre-conference workshop for clergy and laity titled “Perspectives on a Local Church Game Plan” based on his new book, Should We Change Our Game Plan: From Traditional or Contemporary to Missional and Strategic, which has just been released by Abingdon Press. The workshop is designed to help church leaders understand the origins and landscape of the secular climate of our culture and provide ways to re-focus our efforts in mission and evangelism toward reaching new people with the good news of Jesus and his kingdom.
Dr. Hunter is one of the foremost experts on church growth and evangelism. In addition to his latest book, he has also published How to Reach Secular People, Church for the Unchurched, The Celtic Way of Evangelism, Leading and Managing a Growing Church, Radical Outreach, The Apostolic Congregation, and the Recovery of a Contagious Methodist Movement. A book table will be available at the event.
The seminar is open to all congregational leaders. The cost is $25.00 per person. The registration fee includes a box lunch! Additional funding has been graciously provided by the Rocky Mountain Annual Conference Ministerial Education Fund.
